We provide skilled, gentle and knowledgeable dental
hygienists who will give you their undivided attention during your cleaning
visits. Our staff provides the most advanced, non-surgical periodontal
therapy available. If you want to keep your teeth for the rest of your
life and have them looking their best, our hygienists will help you
attain that goal.
We routinely evaluate our patients periodontal health; both at our initial
exam and at all maintenance (cleaning) visits. Treatment is tailored
towards your individual needs. Patients who are periodontally healthy
(without gum pocketing, bleeding, bone loss or heavy tartar accumulation)
generally receive a routine "cleaning" and polishing. When
we discover signs of gum disease we often recommend scaling and root
planing treatments. This more extensive treatment frequently helps our
patients return to periodontal health and often eliminates the need
for referral for periodontal surgery.
For patients with more isolated areas of gum disease, we offer localized
treatment with medications placed directly into the affected area. There
are several antibiotics or antibacterial agents in powder or chip form
that we painlessly "tuck" under a pocket in seconds to help
shrink a periodontal pocket.
